| PCSO 7256 Scott Windsor writes; “I joined the Avon & Somerset Constabulary in May this year as a Police Community Support Officer. Before joining the force I had various jobs ranging from uniformed security work to driving a fork-lift truck. I have wanted to work for the Avon & Somerset force for a number of years, so when I saw the role of PCSO advertised I jumped at the chance to apply. “I am currently working at Wellington Police Station with PC Kevin Challes and cover the Nynehead area as well as other rural areas around Wellington. The role of PCSO means that I will be visiting the area reasonably often so you may well see me more often than PC Challes. I am looking forward to getting out and about in Nynehead and meeting many, if not all, in person.” |
PC 3279 Kevin Challes writes; “I have 24 years service with Avon & Somerset, my initial 10 years working in Bristol in various departments, before moving down to Taunton. I have been at Wellington for the last 6 years, initially doing 24 hour policing, then when Wellington changed to being a Community Beat Station. I remained with my beat my being everything south of Wellington. “On 1st April 2006 the force changed boundaries and shrunk my south side of Wellington, but I gained another area north of Wellington which includes Nynehead. The areas are called 'Monument Ward' and 'Bradford on Tone Ward'. I look forward to meeting everybody to discuss any matters.” |
