The Nynehead & District Local History Society

The Society was formed in 1971 after the World Ploughing Match was held in Nynehead at Heywood Farm. Local people put on an exhibition to tell visitors about the village which led to the formation of the society. Its aim then was the undertaking of research and meetings involved talks on that work, as well as speakers on various subjects. The society is the oldest Local History Society in the area and has been meeting for over 50 years.

Talks are held monthly in the Memorial Hall from October to May inclusively. Outings, usually connected to the winter talks, take place each month during June to September.
